The University of Southern California Race and Equity Center is a dynamic research and organizational improvement center that helps professionals in educational institutions, corporations, and other contexts strategically develop and achieve equity goals. They work to better understand and correct issues related to diversity and inclusion, avoid and recover from racial crises, and engineer sustainable cultures of inclusion and respect.
The center’s racially diverse team is composed of professionals who are uncompromisingly committed to equity, justice, excellence, relevance, and adversity. They execute rigorous, evidence-based work that educates our nation, transforms institutions and organizations, boldly confronts racism, and strategically achieves equity.
The USC Race and Equity Center needed to launch a platform for recruiting, connecting, and sharing professional development resources with employers and diverse professionals in higher education. The goal was to create a site that matched their brand and adhered to USC’s design standards, while providing flexibility for growth and change.
We transitioned their site from a rigid system to a modern and flexible WordPress site, allowing for easy updates and additions. STAUFFER’s creative team designed a unique look that fit the USC theme while reflecting a bold experience authentic to the USC Race and Equity program. This approach ensured the site was both flexible and accessible, enabling a small team to manage extensive functionality.
The USC Race and Equity Center and STAUFFER teams worked side-by-side to bring the center’s concept and vision for PRISM to fruition. Together, we drew on one another’s diverse set of specialized skills and knowledge to ideate, create, and execute branding and user experience toward designing and developing a robust system aimed at changing the face of higher education as we know it.
What STAUFFER delivered was a cost-effective solution that elevates its brand and user experience and allows it the flexibility to consistently deliver the latest information and effectively communicate their services/offerings to K-12 schools, colleges, businesses, and agencies.
Employers may advertise available faculty, staff, and administrative positions at their institutions directly to racially and ethnically diverse professionals who want to work in higher education through searchable standardized profiles. Faculty and staff members of color can also connect with other racially and ethnically diverse colleagues who work similarly in postsecondary contexts across the country.
