Wonderware West
Wonderware West’s renovates content architecture and interface to optimize user experience.
In the software solutions world it is important to keep your customers up to date on the most recent news, training events and webinars. We made this very easy for Wonderware West to do, our engineers created a Drupal site (open source content management system) for. This allowed for Wonderware West to create various users that could control the data on the site, allowing for multiple departments to update the site on a daily basis. With an organization the size of Wonderware West it was important for us to design a site that was easy to manage and maintain, and gave several departments control over the content of the site.
With Wonderware West we saw a great opportunity to streamline the user interface and give a boost to their current branding. Our architects created a solid foundation that Wonderware West can grow upon. We created an interface that was booth visually appealing and easy to navigate through.
Wonderware West provides Best-in-Class Automation Software Solutions with an industry focus on Process and Discrete Manufacturing. Which means the users that will be coming to this site will need to obtain valuable information that you can only obtain from the solutions provider. With that being said we knew that we had to organize the data on the site in such a way that a first time consumer can land their subject of choice in a matter of seconds. We created a two-tiered menu where users could find specific topics of choice and could navigate to them easily. We divided the choices into six categories and created an advance search option where a user could type in the information they were looking for and filter their results.
We took it another step further; our creative team took the content and created hierarchical levels that best defined the important data, and helped categorized individual page sections. We gave the entire site a face-lift, giving it a more modern look with an uplifting glow that resides just behind the interface and blends into the background.
We also conveniently created columns that assisted with the organization of data on particular pages. This Wonderware West could display the content the user was looking for in the main content area and also display, News, Upcoming Training and Upcoming Webinars all on the same page; which provided the user with the information they desired plus additional information that could be helpful. This generated more clicks within the site, as Wonderware West was able to communicate recent events, upcoming events, and webinars; and its users became more intrigued by what they had to offer. They became more involved and proceeded to participate in webinars and training courses.
In addition we created a Forums section, which allowed both users and Wonderware West experts to come together in a community that was self-efficient. We created a forum that was formatted in such a way that it was easy for both the reader and writer to distinguish topics, threads, and responses. We empowered the community to be self-efficient from Wonderware West, while still remaining within the company’s scope. This would prove to be vastly valuable, as the users continued to visit the forums and help on another, and Wonderware West was able to monitor the issues and solutions that were being achieved with their software. This community allowed for questions and answers to be discussed in as little or as much detail as each user desired. This would prove to be a great success and allowed user to share experiences with one another and join forces to conquer solutions together, giving them a sense of unity and pride with the Wonderware West brand.
