The Story
Major League Soccer - and our good friends at Work habit - came to us with a deadline and a serious need for sophisticated data handling of over 250 games a season played by 18 teams. The mission handed to us: develop a statistics package to handle the past 15 seasons.
The Challenge
Fortunately, Work Habit and Major League Soccer provided steady support throughout development, and plenty of information covering the seasons in recent history. Still, 15 seasons translates to a mountain of data to sift through and present in a package for our partners to ingest and display on a website teeming with excited fans. Fortunately, handling complex data in statistics packages using frameworks such as Zend, .NET and others is yet another tool on the belt for us.
The Result
Fan response has been great; in addition, the statistics package developed has been accommodated in the upcoming deployment of several team sites in the Major League Soccer network of sites. And, most importantly, the fans are kept satisfied with a ton of fresh player info!
